I have a 1994 Yamaha Razz. Lately I have had to kick it for like 10 minutes before it runs. Sometimes I have to give it a break because I flood it. The battery in it is dead, and I have thought about replacing it, but now I don’t know if I should. Would I be pushing a button for ten minutes, or still forced to kick start? I replaced the spark plug just a couple weeks ago. Once it has been running, it will start with one kick as long as it hasn’t been over 45 minutes or so. What is wrong? Thanks!

Have you cleaned the air filter lately?!?
If not start looking there.
Next place to research would be the carburetor itself, pop the float bowl off carefully and inspect for crap in it. If there’s crap in it there’s crap throughout the whole thing and a clean-up is in order.
Why? Because you don’t know how to tune it. It’s cold blooded and there is a fix. A shop can adjust it properly for you.
A worn out top end will give those symptoms (cylinder, piston & rings).
2 stroke engines ware out quite often.
