Razor E100 Electric Scooter Features and Accessories

by admin on December 27, 2009

By now you’ve probably heard about Razor Scooters; especially if you have a pre-teen or a teen in your household. You can see kids in the neighborhood cruising around visiting their friends or heading down to the park to play for the afternoon. The most inexpensive model in their lineup is the Razor E100 electric scooter. Like the other models above it, this is certainly a well-built and sturdy little vehicle. Be careful though; the weight capacity tops out at 120 pounds. The chain-driven motor is high torque, and it has a versatile twist-grip throttle which is easy to get used to.

These do make a great Christmas or birthday gift for kids aged 8 and up. Now, the main difference between the E100 and Razor’s more expensive E300S and E500S scooters is that their motors can be started in a standing position without moving. The E100 electric scooter does require a little bit of a manual kickoff. Just get it up to around 3 mph before trying to start the motor by pressing a trigger, and she’ll take off reaching a top speed of tem miles per hour. I think that’s actually fast enough for most younger kids to have fun, but at that speed it’s not going to be really dangerous.

The Razor E100 electric scooter takes around 8 hours to completely charge up, using the extended life rechargeable battery included in the package. Also included in the package is a pair of 12-volt batteries, and a set of tools.

You may also want to consider accessorizing by checking out the following:

Even at only 10 miles per hour, I recommend you insist on your child wearing protective head gear. The Razor V-17 multi sport helmet offers high quality along with a really nice design. It’s really a quite nice choice for any sport that requires protective headgear like skateboarding, bicycling, etc.

The other really exposed areas that you want to protect are the knees and the elbows. There are lots of good quality products in this area too. Make sure your child skates or scoots in complete safety with the Razor Skateboard Youth Pad Set. It is designed mainly for skateboarders, but it’s fine for bike riders, inline skaters, and of course … scooter enthusiasts.

Well, I hope that gives you a better idea of what this product is all about. The vast majority of user comments on this product are positive and I personally give it 4 and 1/2 stars. Check out my blog for more information.
