I’ve noticed that kids are getting fatter and lazier due to computers and electric scooters. When I was a kid, we had bicycles, skip it, pogo sticks, foot scooters, sports and other activities that required working the cardiovascular system. We never had powerful computers, cell phones and electric scooters.
What are some physical activities that you do to improve your health?

swim. take a walk. run. gym class. hang with friends. play sports
well ryt now during the summer i swim everyday and then go outside and play soccer or just play jump rope etc.
I move my hand to use the mouse and I walk a little to get on my electric scooter…
Sometimes I even have to get up to use the bathroom!
Just because we don’t have a stupid pogo stick doesn’t mean we gained 140 pounds… dumbass

I want to bike more. I go to the pool every day (weather permitting). I like gym class. Sometimes I walk with my mom for half an hour.
Well, I don’t think children today are getting fattier and lazier just due to electronics. I also believe it’s because their parents are also soooo busy they things are built for “convenience” such as fast food, raced activities after school and parents not having/making time for their kids, etc. to be able to monitor or participate in planning healthier meals or activities w/family after dinner (not good or bad; just part of life and many homes have both parents working – unlike when I was growing up).
Swimming is a great exercise for kids (I’m not referring to Michael Phelps swimming per se
haha…all swimming). It’s a blast and depending where you live, they do have many rec centers w/indoor pools and water fun inside these days around the country. Good old fashioned games like kick the can, ghost in the graveyard, rollerblading, skateboarding, etc. are all fun. I think it’s just as important for parents to be involved trying to find what physical activities their kids like (and encourage them) as it is for kids these days…..just what I see around me (neighbors, family and friends). Meaning, to make time for it. Also, taking time to learn new sports and things with them. Skiing, basketball, baseball, tennis, etc.
we’ll continue with that, and then bulimia and anorexia to get rid of it, 21st century style
Trust me in my house there’s no such thing as being lazy, we’re hardly ever home. I get to go on the computer at nights, and if I’m lucky I can bring my laptop. I skateboard, believe it or not shopping’s exercise, Pilates, kick boxing classes at night with my mom. My brothers 9, and he’s like the most active 9 year old I know he’s into baseball, football, soccer, and skateboarding(with his big sis ; ] ), . If you live in New York you’d walk, sometimes we drive. If we ever got fat I’m pretty sure our parents would like like us in a gym, and only feed us salad.
Technology isn’t the only reason for the increased rates of obesity; besides the increase in portion sizes, many highschoolers these days simply have very little time for physical activity due to academics. Anyway, to answer the question, I’m not very active (I prefer to read), but I do walk my dogs, and my family goes hiking whenever we can, either nature hikes (not those flat, wide trails with all the signs, I mean real nature) on camping/cabin trips or local photo treks.
Two of the people who have responded to this so far need to learn how to disagree without being rude. No one ever listens to someone who’s telling them they’re stupid just because they have a different perspective on a certain issue.
