Illinois kid eletric scooter laws?

What is the Illinois laws for a child’s electric scooter, about 10-17mph. (Like road, sidewalk, helmet, etc…)

The laws/regulations regarding scooters are updated and can change from time to time no matter where you live.

They will not only vary state to state, but vary in different communities as well. The laws in all jurisdictions include helmets are mandatory and rarely, if ever, are electric scooters allowed on sidewalks. Sidewalks are for pedestrians exclusively.

To be sure of the most current regulations in your community check with your local DMV.

You cannot drive them on the road without a driver’s license/plate. You cannot drive them on the sidewalk because they are motorized. Plenty much all you can do with them is drive them on your driveway.
Some older kids have them in my area, and they were riding them on a sidewalk. They almost ran over a little kid.
