An electric motor will only go as fast as its’ circuitry will allow, so to answer your question s no and no. An extra battery would let you go further, but not necessarily faster. To go faster or “tweek” an electric motor, it would have to be rewound and a bigger armature installed. Sorry physics 101

Change a drive sprocket.

The only way to go faster is to change the pulley sizes but higher top speed will cost you in acceleration.
Hooking up another battery is done 2 ways. But you will need to build a holding bracket or clamp
For faster speed;
the stock battery is inside the frame, Remove the Neg – cable and extend it to the neg- side of the added battery, don’t hook it up yet.
Connect the the added battery POS+ to the old battery Neg-. Now connect the extended Neg – cable to the new battery Neg-. This is called SERIES, this now makes your 12 volt motor run on 24 volts, it will be faster but burn up quickly, your parents will not be happy.
For the same speed but longer travel time hook the new POS+ to the old POS+ and the nw neg- to he old neg-,. This is parallel, 12 volts but more of it.
Overall it is not worth the trouble, the repair cost is prohibitive and the scooter will probably not handle well enuff to control; the extra speed.

Make the right Choice.

Drop it off a cliff? It will go much faster, for a little while atleast.
