my 16th birthday is next year and ive saw all theese kids in the year above me riding to school on theese moped things. i would like to get one next year but i dont know what you have to do or anything

What state or country are you in? Some states like New Jersey have mopeds restricted to 20 mph but treat them like bicycles in licensing-meaning you won’t need a drivers license, might need a rules of road test certificate. A few let 50cc with speeds of 30 mph ride without license- Colorado and Ohio. Arkansas lets 50cc with no speed restriction run without plates- since vehicle doesn’t require license plate rider doesn’t require a license. First tell state and them check your DMV/DOT for their definition of ‘moped’ , then license requirements for ‘moped’ . Since you saw other students riding ‘mopeds’ , possibly you’re in a no license required state or like Iowa that lets 14 year olds ride with permit.
