I live in NYC and am considering getting a scooter to zip around without having to sit in traffic for hours and worry about parking. I’m also trying to save money but not look ridiculous so a large scooter that doesn’t require insurance and registration would do the trick I think. Any Ideas about what classifications I should look out for?

You have several things to consider here. 1. If you’re going to ride it on the street, it must be registered and insured. 2. If, however you’re going to ride it on the sidewalks, you don’t have to worry about all that because it will get impounded when the NY Gestapo arrests you. 3. Where will you put it when you aren’t riding it? I haven’t heard they are offering a “hover” option just yet. But good luck all the same.
